Technical data

De Jaguar MK V (five) was the first post-war Jaguar. After world war II the Swallow Sidecar Company said "good bye" to their old name "S.S.", for obvious reasons, and continued by the name Jaguar.
The MK V has very many pre-war S.S. Jaguar 3.5 Litre "lines" in it's design but is very well recognizable as a post war model. We see the smaller front lights which are integrated in the front wings, the steel disk-wheels and the slick rear-wheel covers.  The  MK V appeared on the market alongside the famous Jaguar XK 120 but was not equipped with it's legendary XK engine. The MK V was available with two six-cylinder engines with cylinder-capacities of 2.5 and 3.5 Litre. The car was equipped with a hydraulic brake-system, drum brakes all round and independent front-wheel suspension.
The Jaguar MK V is a scarce Jaguar model; the 2.5 Litre was built 1675 times, the 3.5 Litre 8791 times. The Drophead coupe, like shown in these pages, is really hard to find; only 1001 were built...
