Technical data

The "Vega" saw the light of day in the year 1954 as the first creation in the impressive line of Facel Vega automobiles.
The Facel FV1 was fitted with a 4.7 Litre V8 engine.
In 1955 the Facel Vega FV2 was presented. Not much was changed compared to it's predecessor; the FV2 featured a panoramic wind screen and a dashboard with wood motif facing. In the year 1956 a larger 5.4 Litre V8 engine was fitted to the car and the model was named FV2B.

The Facel Vega automobiles were blessed with more than fantastic road holding capabilities in their days and the cars were very luxurious. A full leather interior, "royal" seats and power windows added to the sheer comfort. The engine and transmission also added their part to the comfortable ride, the large V8 engine came from Chrysler. This reliable engines offered lots of torque and gave the Facel Vega models the possibility to drive at high cruising speeds without any effort and with great comfort for the passengers.
All bright work details, also the complex shaped bumpers, on the car are made of stainless steel. What else could we expected of Facel being a specialist manufacturer of stainless steel products.

In the years 1955 and 1956 only 103 Facel FV2 en FV2B models were built. Convertible models are very, very scarce. Facel Vega only built a total of 11 factory convertibles based on the eight cylinder FV1, FV2, FV2B and FV3 models.
