Austin Motor Company discovered the Healey day before the opening of the "Earls Court Motor show" in the year 1952 at the show-booth of the Healey Motor Corporation.
Leonard Lord, Austin Motor Corporation chief contacted Donald Healey immediately and bought the car's production-rights before the show was opened...
Donald Healey built the Healey with Austin parts which was ideal for the step Austin took. Austin Motor Co. saw the Healey as the perfect answer on Triumphs successful TR sports car which sold very well in the United States.
De 100/4 was the first Austin Healey, the car was produced from the year 1954 until 1956.

In the year 1956 the Austin Healey 100/6 saw the light of day, the first Austin Healey with six-cylinder engine was born...
The 100/6 offered more space than the 100/4 because the wheelbase was stretched approximately 5 centimeters.
The powerful 135 bhp. BMC six-cylinder engine was connected to a 4-speed gearbox and an overdrive giving the 100/6 a top-speed of almost 110 mph.
In the year 1959 the Austin Healey 100/6 was succeeded by the
Austin Healey 3000.
