Austin Motor
Company discovered the Healey day before the opening of the "Earls
Court Motor show" in the year 1952 at the show-booth of the Healey
Motor Corporation. The Austin Healey 3000, also known as the "Big Healey", was produced between 1959 and 1968. The Healey 3000 was the follow-up to the successful 100/4 and 100/6 Healey's. The 3000 was the first Healey fitted with power-assisted brakes and disc brakes on the front wheels. The 3000 was to be the last "big" Austin Healey Six-cylinder

3000 Mk I 'lightweight', year 1959. Colour silver metallic with a black leather
interior. This very special Austin Healey was restored, built and
prepared by Austin Healey specialist Gabor Konkolyi. He prepared,
serviced and maintained many high specification Healey's for historic
racing and rally purposes in the last decade. This Healey Mk I was fully
and meticulously restored. The bodywork and chassis were restored form the
bare metal and epoxy primed. The body was given new alloy wings and door
panels. The body/chassis were given a top quality 2K paint system. All
mechanics were overhauled and where necessary renewed. Everything was
built and prepared to very high quality and performance standards. The
engine was amongst others fitted with a special Dennis Welch aluminium cylinder head,
fast camshaft, 123 electronic ignition, three original Weber 45 mm.
carburettors and a special Stainless Steel exhaust system. In the
current specification the engine delivers around 190 bhp. Since this
Healey was lightened 168 kg. (compared to the original weight) to 932
kg. The weight loss is has a very positive effect on the acceleration,
handling, steering, grip and of course the braking! Combined with the
powerful engine and the up rated suspension this lightweight Healey is a
superb driver car! This
