Information

The Ferrari 365 GTB/4 was announced on the 1968 Paris Salon. The 356 GTB/4 was designed by Leonardo Fioravanti at Pininfarina to be the successor of the Ferrari 275 GTB/4. The name 'Daytona' was adopted by enthusiasts after the 1-2-3 victory of Ferrari at the Daytona 24 hours in the year 1967 with the 330 P4. The body was built upon a tubular chassis and the 365 GTB/4 was given the same wheelbase as the 275 GTB/4 but the front and rear track were increased. The fantastic V12 engine was given a cylinder capacity of 4.4 Litre. The gearbox was mounted to the differential (Transaxle) to obtain an ideal weight distribution. In it's days the 365 GTB/4 was the fastest road car on the market. Between 1968 and 1973 1406 Ferrari 365 GTB/4 cars have been built. This figure includes 15 competition cars, 122 GTS/4 (Spyder models) and 158 right hand drive models. Nowadays a much sought after collector car.
