Bentley S1 Continental DHC, 1959
Photo overview - Technical data - Information
In the year
1931 the famous Bentley firm was taken over by Rolls Royce. Since that
moment Bentley was the second top class Rolls Royce brand for clients
who wanted more sportive automobiles with improved road holding
capabilities. All models were based on Rolls Royce models (except the
magnificent Bentley Continental R) but they were mechanically modified
on some details and the cars were given the beautiful Bentley grille. Six cylinder
engine Bentley S1
Continental Drophead Coupe, year 1959. Chassis number BC 23 FM, engine
number BC 22 F, matching numbers. Colour dark red with a beige (tan)
leather interior, Wilton carpet and a beige (tan) mohair hood. This
fabulous Bentley S1 Continental DHC has been meticulously serviced and
maintained in our workshops for many years. In 2008 the engine was fully
overhauled at Altena Classic Service. The automobile is in excellent to
excellent+ condition! This Bentley S1 left the factory as a coupe model.
In the years 1986/1987 the automobile was converted to it's fantastic
Drophead Coupe shape by Clanfield Restorations of England. The
conversion has been executed to the highest possible level of perfection
and the London owner Mr. Johnson must have been very pleased. The
automobile comes beautifully documented including British specialist
service invoices from P&A Wood, Frank Dale and Altena Classic Service
covering the years in the Netherlands. The documentation also holds
correspondence, photo's and the official Bentley Chassis Specification.
