Rover V8
engine Morgan +8, year 1987. Colour British Racing green with a green leather interior trimmed with crème piping. Crème vinyl tonneau cover. This magnificent Morgan sold new in the Netherlands. The car comes from the first owner who enjoyed the car for 46.000 unforgettable kilometres. The automobile is in excellent original condition! In the early 1990ies, as the car had driven 1200 kilometres, this Morgan has been superbly tuned by Colin Musgrove Racing in England. They increased the cylinder capacity of the Rover 3.9 Litre V8 engine up to 4.5 Litre. The engine is fitted with Cosworth pistons, a forged Crane crankshaft, a sports camshaft, larger valves, a lighter flywheel, a double Plenum intake and a special free flow exhaust system. The engine block is reinforced with cross bolts. With 295 (!) measured brake horsepower at the rear wheels this +8 accelerates from 0-100 km/h in 4.2 seconds, supercar level! Of course the suspension and brakes were up rated to cope with the additional power. The rear suspension sports a Panhard bar and anti-tramp bars and Koni shock absorbers all round. The original brakes are replaced by ventilated disc brakes all round and stopping power is given by special AP-racing calipers. For additional safety a roll bar and four pint safety harnesses are fitted. Despite the extensive tuning, massive torque and power, the automobile has not lost its excellent drivability on the open roads. This may well be the fastest Morgan +8 in Europe. Price: Euro 46.500,--. info@imparts.nl |
