Glas 1700 GT coupe, year 1966. Colour blue with a black leatherette interior. This fabulous Glas was extensively restored retaining all original details. This Glas is being considered to be the Glas 1700 GT 'reference car' for originality in club circles. This automobile is in concours (show) condition! The fully documented history is very interesting. This Glas 1700 GT was purchased new by Herr Heinz Egon Glass, chairman of the German Glas club. As Mr. Glass moved to the USA he took the car with him. In the USA he also became chairman of the Glas club. Mr. Glass was known as 'Mr. Glas' knowing everything on the make and models. All Glas documentation was translated into English by him. Years later the automobile was purchased by a Glas enthusiast from the Netherlands. Then the car was meticulously and professionally restored retaining all original details. The perfect interior is still fully original and untouched!
The car features a five speed gearbox and a Nardi steering wheel. The car comes extremely well documented, this is what we consider to be 'completely' documented: warrantee booklet with service coupons, warrantee card for the Blaupunkt radio, Service address booklet, 'Betriebsanleitung', 'Erzatzteilkatalog', maintenance manual, club member booklet, parts book, Dutch book with all technical and adjustment data, invoices and a photo reportage of the restoration.
