Silver Wraith 'Park Ward' Sports Saloon, year 1949. Chassis number WFC62. Colour
two-tone light yellow over black. Beige (tan) leather interior with dark
beige carpet.
The Rolls Royce Silver Wraith is one of the most desirable post war
owner-driver Rolls Royce automobiles. In total 1144 chassis were built
and all were 'dressed' with bespoke bodywork by several specialists.
This magnificent Silver Wraith was given a beautiful 'Sports Saloon'
body work by the renown firm of Park Ward.
The automobile shows Park Ward number 45, the last of this specific
model built. The automobile comes from a Dutch Wraith collector who
cherishes the automobile since the year 1989. In earlier years this fine
sports saloon was concours winner at the 1978 Rolls royce Enthusiasts
Club meeting and in 1983 participant on a concours d'élégance in the
USA.
The automobile has been
serviced and maintained perfectly, the car is in excellent to superb
condition and
the history is known and documented. From new this Silver Wraith has
driven 140.540 miles. Just over 1000 miles ago (at 139.294 miles) the
engine was fully rebuilt, the radiator was overhauled and the clutch has
been renewed.
This rare Silver Wraith Park Ward Sports Saloon is one of the 61 cars of
this type without the separation window. This clearly expresses the
owner-driver status of this Park Ward model.
The automobile features an original and delightfully large sliding roof
and the car comes with it's original tools. The only points of note for
the next owner-driver: the wooden interior parts may be in need of fresh
varnish and. This is a fantastic historic Rolls Royce driver car which
performs very satisfactory in every aspect.
